Virginia Baptists India
Tsunami Response
Our Response Thus Far
-
The assessment team delivered $4,000 of Virginia Baptist gifts to immediately place 10 children in the Precious Children’s Home for 1 year.
-
A Crisis Care Team responded in March and visited the affected areas to provide any necessary ministry. These individuals also provided training for seminary students and pastors in the area of crisis and pastoral care.
-
The Virginia Baptist Mission Board has provided $500 for the expenses of local leadership to travel to the affected areas and provide logistical support.
-
In March, $1,200 of Virginia Baptist gifts were used to hire an Indian to serve as a coordinator of our efforts for one year.
-
Some tools have been developed and are available to assist in this relief endeavor. These include a short video showing the areas of our response, a prayer guide, bulletin inserts and a resource kit. Click here to access these resources. (link to http://www.vbmb.org/tsunami/resources.htm
