  • Chairs spaced at least six inches apart
  • Teacher sits with the class with a small table to the side for teaching resources (No podium)
  • Tables for members optional but not recommended since tables restrict activities and seating arrangement
  • Small serving table for fellowship refreshments
  • Small sink optional

  • Above floor wall storage for supplies and curriculum resources
  • Chalk or marker boards and appropriate markers/chalk
  • Tack  boards for hanging posters, banners and other teaching visuals

  • Door openings 32 inches or more to accommodate wheelchairs
  • Commercial low-pile wall-to-wall carpet
  • Fluorescent or other adequate lighting (No incandescent lights)
  • Blinds at windows to control sunlight but minimal window treatments (Curtains and fabrics attract dust)

Note: When there is limited classroom space and there is a need to begin new classes, multiple classes or groups can meet in a large space such as a fellowship hall or multipurpose room. Each class or discussion group must meet in a circle or at round tables. The teacher must limit lecture. Three or more classes or groups must be in the open space so that no one group can hear just one other group. Three or more groups Tablescreate "white noise".

Since most adults are unable to concentrate on more than one conversation at a time, when adults hear two or more other groups at the same time there is a tendency to block out the conversations and concentrate only on their group. This in affect creates white or background noise that is blocked.
