Jonah: An Emerging Leader on a Voyage to Discovery
The theme for this year’s annual BGAV meeting is “Voyage to Discovery.” The Program Committee selected this theme and wanted to emphasize Emerging Leaders. My first thought was, who in the Bible best models that for us. I almost laughed out loud when the strangest person, Jonah, crossed my mind. Then I thought more about it and realized he actually is a good interpreter of our theme. Let me explain what I mean. More...

YEC 2006...be a part of the largest gathering of Virginia Baptists every year. Two days of worship, music, fellowship and fun for middle and high school students at VCU and Paramounts Kings Dominion on August 3-4. Special guests include: Justin Lookadoo (speaker both days), King of Kings Skate Ministry Team (special guests on Thursday only), Big Daddy Weave (worship leaders both days), Building 429 and Barlow Girl (at Kings Dominion).

Camp Kirkland and Kyle Hill will be teaching new techniques and concepts to help parise teams and bands become better worship leaders and musicians, and become good stewards of their God-given talents.

Don’t think you have enough children or youth to participate in a mission trip? Don’t know the hows & wheres of mission trip planning? Consider participating in Missions

Each issue we feature one of our Baptist General Association of Virginia partners. Our desire is to help each reader to understand what encompasses this entity we call the Baptist General Association of Virginia.
This month we feature the Ray and Ann Spence Network for Congregational Leadership, known as “RASNet.” RASNet reaches out to the Virginia Baptist family by creating a church-to-church “network of networks.” Those networks grow congregation-wide leaders and extend a mission of “growing servants who advance the Kingdom.” Learn more...
- That by completing the Annual Church Profile (ACP), you assist church planting in reaching people groups?
- That the ACP helps prioritize areas of the state where evangelism and new churches are most needed?
- That the ACP reveals trends in total membership, Sunday School attendance, Worship attendance, giving, church growth, etc. that help determine where resources may be needed?
The ACP is a crucial reporting tool that every BGAV church should complete.
Click here to learn the importance of the ACP and for helpful information on completing the ACP for 2006.
We would like one staff member or the clerk from each church to complete a brief survey about the ACP. Click here to complete the survey.
