Baptist Ministry Assistants of Virginia is an organization that:

• encourages individual spiritual growth and maturity
• promotes professional excellence and encourages improvement of individual performance
• offers opportunities for continuing education and
  spiritual enrichment
• develops a greater understanding of the church's mission
  and the ministry assistant's part in that mission
• works cooperatively with other Baptist churches and
  entities in Virginia.

Our History

After many months of praying and planning, the organization began as the Virginia Baptist Secretaries Association (VBSA) in April 1987. In May 2002 the name of our organization was changed to Baptist Ministry Assistants of Virginia (BMAV) to reflect our members and their job descriptions in their ministries.

Membership

Our yearly membership dues are $25 for new members, $20 for renewal, and $10 for retired individuals.

We meet twice a year (spring and fall) at locations around the state.  We offer the "Professional Certification for Ministry Assistants" and "Advanced Ministry Office Skill Shops" every other year.
