What is WINGS?
WINGS is a new way of doing
mission education with preschoolers, children,
youth, and adults. Rather than aiming merely to
teach about mission work, it aims to help Jesus'
followers to "catch the wind of God's Spirit" and
become missionaries in their daily lives. Its
primary goal is not to instruct local church teachers,
but to inspire them, to stimulate their God-given
creativity and resourcefulness in relation to
six learning types, each a way of connecting with
God's Spirit.
WINGS is an unusual curriculum
resource. It is not a box of lessons, but a spiritual
discipline. It does not give you all that you
need to be a teacher. How could it? Rather, it
challenges you to locate these resources within
yourself and within your community, because that
is where God has placed them. Let WINGS carry
you to where they are, and help you to share them
with others.
WINGS was
developed and produced by Woman's
Missionary Union of Virginia and the Virginia
Baptist Mission Board, in partnership as Co-Missioners.
