Impact Northeast 

The partnership between Virginia Baptists and the Baptist conventions of the northeastern United States continues through 2008 and beyond. Individuals, churches, and associations are partnering in various areas of the northeast.

People of all ages – youth, adults, senior adults – can use their skills and gifts in Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, New England, and Washington, DC. Requests for assistance come from the northeastern Baptist partners; Virginia Baptists volunteer to provide the needed help.

VBS, day camps, block parties, prayer walking, participation in neighborhood surveys for church plants, and construction are only a sampling of the endless possibilities for ministry.  Long-term partnerships have been begun by churches and associations to provide a continuing relationship.

A Virginia Baptist partnership with the Baptist Convention of Pennsylvania/South Jersey is ongoing, as we continue to be involved in a new church start in New Jersey. Virginia Baptists have committed to help fund this new church start and anticipate the need for volunteers to work on-site in the future.

Churches in Virginia can receive valuable assistance from congregations in the northeast as well. Expertise in planting churches and working in multi-ethnic churches are two of many possibilities for partnering here in Virginia.
