Other Ideas
& Options Related to Mentoring:
Shadowing
Shadowing is an incredibly simple and practical learning
tool for anyone thinking about ministry. It
is when a person, who wants to learn more about ministry, “shadows” an
experienced minister – going with them and
observing them through their daily tasks. Shadowing
may be one of the most valuable learning tools for
an emerging leader.
Internships
In a way, internships are a longer and more committed
version of shadowing. They allow an emerging
leader to work independently (under supervision)
to develop very practical skills and experience. Sometimes,
funding is available depending on the proposed internship.
