Demographic Request/Ministry Profile Study

Defining Demographics
Demographics are the statistical characteristics of population.  They are used to describe a geographical area.  They tell us information such as:

  • Population trends and projections
  • Age distribution
  • Gender distribution
  • Race
  • Education levels
  • Income levels
  • Family size
  • Marital status
  • Household sizes and types
  • Lifestyles

What Are the Benefits of a Ministry Profile Study?
Ministry Profile Studies offered by the Center for Ministry Research and Innovation help Virginia Baptist churches to gain insight on how to effectively minister to their communities. We use demographic information from the 2000 Census, as well as estimates for the current year and five-year projections. Each study is customized as a result of a church’s geographic specifications.  Each church selects which level of study it wants done.  The cost of the study depends on the level the church selects.  Costs range from no charge to $250.  We do recommend visiting www.zipskinny.com for basic demographic information per zip code to see if this meets your needs.  For religious data information on your area, please visit www.thearda.com.
