Virginia Baptist Youth Ministers Association
(VBYMA)
Professional
Development
Personal Enrichment
Mutual Support
For over
15 years!
What
is VBYMA?
In November of 1988, sixty-eight Virginia Baptist
youth ministers met to begin the process of establishing
a fellowship of peers to be called the Virginia
Baptist Youth Ministers Association (VBYMA).
The VBYMA is an organization
of full-time, part-time, and volunteer youth
ministers from across the state.
Mission Statement
“To promote effective youth ministry in
Virginia by providing opportunities for professional
development, personal enrichment, and mutual
support to youth ministers and their families.”
Our Goal…
is to strengthen the work of youth ministry
by equipping our professional leaders & volunteer
workers across the state.
How does the VBYMA
work?
The VBYMA Executive Council,
Regional Coordinators, and the Virginia Baptist
Mission Board’s liaison meet annually to
cast vision, discuss, and plan ways that statewide
efforts can accomplish our purposes. The VBYMA is
a resource, a sounding board, and an advocate
to support youth ministry on a statewide level.
Membership
Why should You become
a member?
Because we need each other! What
better way to increase effectiveness for our
common tasks than to join together to sharpen
and encourage one another! The VBYMA wants
to assist you in ministry. Each member is vital
to the accomplishment of our purpose. Never
has the challenge to impact lives for Jesus Christ
through youth ministry been so great. Together,
we can accomplish even greater things.
What are the membership
benefits?
- Being part of a dynamic network of youth
ministry
- Opportunities for conferences to strengthen
skills and knowledge in youth ministry
- VBYMA Periodic Newsletter
- Free Resource Pack (only at November Meeting)
- Discounts for the Spiritual
Renewal Weekend, held in
February each year
