Fall Handbell Festival Coming October 29

Join us at Second Baptist Church in Richmond on October 29 for a wonderful day of learning and preparing handbell selections for the Thanksgiving, Advent and Christmas seasons. Mary Kay Parrish, composer and former professor at Oklahoma Baptist University will be our clinician. Music Choices are below:

| Gloria Deo Church Music Conference Scheduled for September 29-October 1 |

Plans are well underway for an exciting Virginia Baptist Church Music conference at Derbyshire Baptist Church in Richmond, September 29 - October 1, in conjunction with Pine Lake Music in Decatur GA. Clinicians will include Molly Ijames, Joseph Martin, Mark Patterson, and Pepper Choplin. EarlyBird registration is $89 if you register by August 26. After August 26, registration rises to $109 per person. To register or for more information, check out Gloria Deo. The conference begins on Thursday evening with a free workshop/clinic for all Adult Choir members. Conference music and purchase information is listed on the above web site. Student and spousal rates are also available.

| All-State Band and Strings Groups to Debut in 2012 |
Our newest groups, the Virginia Baptist All-State Band and the Virginia Baptist All-State Strings will perform for the first time on April 27-28, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Charlottesville. Audition information and procedures will be available in the fall. Doug Smith (retired Professor, Southern Seminary) and Charles Priest (Bluefield College) will be our directors. |
