Christmas: Up Close

One of the real privileges of living in this generation is that of all the human beings that have ever lived, we are the first generation who has seen the earth as it is from a distance. We have rocketed men and women into space, and to a person they have come back dumbstruck by the beauty of our little planet. They've sent pictures back which all of us have seen.

Fred Anderson

This Month in Our History...with Fred Anderson

Everyone has Christmas memories. Frank Cale, a retired Virginia Baptist minister, included one of his memories in a book of his verse entitled Wind in the Treetops. He wrote about the time when he was in the hospital recovering from major surgery. He turned on a radio only to discover that it was Christmas Day.

Cooperative Missions

Cooperative Missions: Star Ahead

The wise men were looking for a sign. A sign that would lead them to the
long-awaited Messiah. As wise men they were always on the lookout -
seeking the one who would be their salvation.

The sign that would lead them came in the form of a star.
Virginia Baptists are on mission to shine the light and love
of Jesus Christ to those in darkness.

Through the combined giving power of 1,400 Baptist General Association of Virginia churches to Cooperative Missions, we are able to witness to those who are seeking God's illuminating love.
