Distinguished Service Award
April 26, 2011 – Even in the midst of disaster, there's cause for celebration as Marie Lawrence received the Distinguished Service Award (Region 1) during the North American Mission Board's annual Awards Banquet. We celebrate her accomplishments, and continue to give thanks for her service to Virginia Baptists!
VBMB Launches New Website

John Upton Elected BWA President
August 2, 2010 – John Upton, executive director of the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV) and of the Virginia Baptist Mission Board (VBMB), was elected president of the Baptist World Alliance during the 20th Baptist World Congress held in Honolulu, Hawaii, July 28-August 1, 2010.
DR Volunteers Receive National Recognition
May 7, 2010 – Two couples in Virginia Baptist life received national recognition during the Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief State Directors meeting, held April 26–28 in Green Lake, Wisconsin.
